Furniture China 2020 sheds light on a Dual-Circulating Revolution with Online & Offline hybrid Impetus

On September 12, 2020, the 26th China International Furniture Expo (Furniture China) successfully concluded at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). While the concurrently held project, Maison Shanghai 2020, also ended the day before (September 11) at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre (SWEECC).

In the 5 days, both shows released the vitality and essence of Chinese furniture and original design and displayed future industry insights and industry trends. This September, the professional buyers and visitors from all over the world shared a high-standard, high-quality, high-value furniture and home design event again.

2020 POST SHOW REPORT

According to the latest statistics, SNIEC received a total of 124,953 visits, while SWEECC had 38,011 visits, exceeding expectation; the net number of domestic visitors was 111,511, an increase of 4.8% over 2019.

With the COVID epidemic, overseas visitors of Furniture China 2020 and its online version, Digital Trade Show, reached 11,268 which are from 136 countries and regions, with

  • 9,446 people registered and subscribed for DTS
  • over 386,000 visits of dts.furniture-china.cn
  • Among these, Asia accounted for 49.25%, the Americas 20.84%, Europe 14.79%, Africa 12.36%, Oceania 2.33%, and others 0.43%.

In the face of difficulties in entering the country, there were 1,822 visitors attended onsite, and they can be described as “hardcore fans” of both Furniture China and Maison Shanghai.

LESS IS MORE, UPGRADING WITHOUT COMPROMISING

This year, although the exhibition area of Furniture China had a slight decrease, the popularity of the design hall was not diminished at all, with the show up of many old friends, such as Dickson, A-Zenith, EXPOCASA, Moqi and COMO etc. Apart from the many mature brands, Furniture China is always refreshing to embrace young brands to spread their wings at its ever-updating fairground. Lepōs, (2020), Qinhang (2019) and UFOU (2018), made an appearance this year bringing “the intimate resonance of people, furniture and space in the post-epidemic era”, which was full of exploratory and interesting elements.

Despite facing the restriction of the epidemic, those familiar-to-all brands such as Ligne Roset, Sifas, Gami, Galipette, Temahome and Fermob from France; Asiades, Maria Yee and Boori from the Netherlands, the U.S. and Australia, managed to make their entrances to Furniture China against all the odds, and without compromises on their displays.

Co-located FMC China 2020 has also seen a vital modification in layout. Industry suppliers were sorted out in a more systematic manner which better emphasizes their advantages. More focus put on new materials and accessories, furniture leather, furniture hardware, surface furnishings, latex home furnishings and soft fabrics etc., in the way to promote the refined development of the industry and accelerating China’s furniture industry towards high-end manufacturing 4.0

This year at Maison Shanghai, more than 300 exhibitors composed creative living scenarios with modern lifestyle, dazzling categories of home furnishing necessities competed at MAISON ESSENTIAL and CREATIVE LIFE. A special section TANGPING planned by Tangping-Alibaba, ELLE DECORATION and Shanghai Sinoexpo Informa Markets Int’l Exhibition Co., Ltd, brings an “online” shop offline.

LOYALTY & GREAT IDEAS REQUIRE RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION

Ten-year following shows great loyalty, as of 2020, Loyalty Exhibitor Award has been honored to 335 ten-year exhibitors, 100 fifteen-year exhibitors and 4 twenty-year exhibitors, as tribute to their dedication and accompany. The other two important awards Gold Idea Design Award and China Furniture Product Innovation Awards have also met the perfect candidates and their works, good ideas deserve appreciation.

Great minds need to be heard. New Ecological Industry Summit gathered professionals in the industry to share thoughts on home furnishing in the digital era, and offer solutions to build new ecological industry. At Maison Business School, deep thoughts on home furnishing under new retail mode, live stream e-commerce and furniture consuming trends were thrown and met with overwhelming responses.

B2B2P2C – IN INTEGRATION WITH INTERNET, CIRCULATE DUALLY

From offline to online, spare exporting shares domestically. Furniture China has always been involving in evolution to contribute to the development of furniture industry.

Furniture China introduced Digital Trade Show(DTS) as its extended online edition (August 8 – November 8, 2020) for international traders, with features including Online Showroom, Online RFQ, Shopper’s vlog, 1V1 Meeting and Live Stream. By September 16th, DTS has generated 714 product inquiries offering 246 furniture exporters with overseas trading opportunities.

As part of the efforts to help expanding domestic market, JJGLE.COM serves as an efficient procurement platform for professional buyers, JJGLE has gathered 612 manufactures with more than 13,000 products. Over 50,000 registered users generating around 300 inquiries per week, and 10,000+ designers have found their manufacturers.

Moreover, Furniture China marked its history by stationing at Tmall the largest online shopping platform in China, guiding manufacturers to involve in the new C2M online retailing, another attempt to enrich the online portal and domestic market expansion with manufacturers.
